Stir fry broccoli

Stir Fry Broccoli

I was feeling like some simple Japanese food last night.  I just wanted something to remind me of home, and I wanted to use up what I had in the fridge.  I made this along with a few other dishes to make a simple but tasty meal.  The measurements are just a guess because when I make stir fry, I never measure anything.  It's how I learned to cook Japanese food.  I usually just taste it as I go to make sure it's how I like it.

Broccoli (about 3 stems w/ florets) cut in 2in. pieces...i cut the thick part of the stems in half
Water
2-3 tbsp Oyster Sauce

1. In a large wok on med. high heat place broccoli and start stirring.

2. Add about 1 tbsp oyster sauce and continue stir frying to coat all broccoli.

3. Add just enough water to cover bottom of wok.  Continue stir frying.

4. After a couple minutes add up to one more tbsp of oyster sauce if needed.  Broccoli should be flavorful but not overly salty.  Add more water if needed..you don't want the broccoli to start burning.

5. Stir fry until desired tenderness.  I like mine tender-crisp because I like the crunchy feel.
